Developer Job Specification
Struq, a leader in the dynamic display advertising industry, is looking for permanent or contract developers who have experience developing distributed high-availability systems. These systems deal with large volumes of data and process thousands of transactions per second in near real time.
The focus of the role is on non-user-facing systems and data processing rather than Web Site Development. Struq is looking to expand its technology team with highly-skilled and motivated individuals who relish a challenge and who are looking to be part of an exciting young company. Experience in the ad-serving industry is advantageous. Successful candidates must be available for fulltime onsite work.
Core Skills
Struq is looking for skills in either of the following two groups of technologies:
Microsoft Technologies
- Required: At least 3 years of .NET 3.5, C#, LINQ, JavaScript, JSON, SQL Server
- Extremely beneficial: Hadoop, HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra
- Beneficial: F#, ASP.NET MVC, Amazon AWS (EC2, SimpleDB, Elastic MapReduce), Microsoft Azure,
OSS Technologies
- Required: Python/Ruby, Amazon AWS (EC2, SimpleDB, Elastic MapReduce), JavaScript, JSON
- Extremely beneficial: Hadoop, HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra
- Beneficial: .NET, C#

Education
- Although formal Computer Science (and related) qualifications are beneficial, the ideal
candidate will have great communication skills and show significant aptitude for fast
learning, productive research abilities and effective problem solving

- Past experience is critical as candidates must be able to show ability to solve complex
programming problems and deliver on advanced system design challenges.
